Literature Review Bootcamp
April 29, 2023 @ 10:00 am - April 30, 2023 @ 2:00 pm EDT
$328
The literature review in a dissertation proposal provides a foundation of knowledge on your research topic, situates your research in the context of existing literature, and makes a case for why your research is needed. The literature review must align with the other major components of the dissertation proposal (e.g., problem statement, thesis statement, etc.). To write a literature review, you must learn how to effectively search, organize, analyze, and synthesize the literature. Many doctoral students struggle to master these skills and find themselves going down rabbit holes and trapped in cycles of revision.
Our proven, step-by-step approach to writing a literature review can streamline the process so you can work more efficiently and avoid the common pitfalls associated with writing a literature review. We’ll even teach you how to streamline your literature search and writing process using AI tools like ChatGPT and Elicit.
Dissertation by Design’s Literature Review Bootcamp is designed to teach essential pre-writing skills, such as how to annotate and critically analyze research articles to help you identify patterns, trends, and gaps in the literature before you begin writing and synthesizing literature. These pre-writing skills are taught on the first day of the Bootcamp; mastering these skills will save you countless hours and prevent you from veering off-topic when searching for relevant literature. The second day of the Bootcamp is designed to teach critical writing skills, such as synthesizing literature and writing using paragraph writing structures. We will also give you tools and strategies to revise and edit your literature review.
